Cursor has raised 2.3 billion dollars in new funding, bringing the startup’s total valuation to 29.3 billion dollars. This marks a massive increase, considering that in January 2025 the company was valued at 2.5 billion dollars, and by May it had reached 9 billion dollars. The latest investment round includes major players such as Coatue, Nvidia, and Alphabet. Existing investors like Accel, Thrive, Andreessen Horowitz, and DST Global also participated again.
Nvidia is both an investor and a corporate customer of Cursor. Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang has even described Cursor as his favorite AI service in the B2B market. Google, alongside OpenAI and Anthropic, is one of the model providers powering Cursor’s technology. The startup plans to direct the newly raised funds toward research and the further development of Composer, its specialized agent programming model introduced in October.
Cursor was founded in 2022 by MIT students Michael Truell, Sueyl Asif, Arvid Lunnemark, and Aman Senger. As of November 2025, the company employs more than 300 engineers, researchers, designers, and operators.
