Trendyol founder Demet Mutlu allegedly set up family office to manage her wealth
Demet Mutlu, who dropped out of Harvard Business School to create Turkey's largest e-commerce platform Trendyol, has now set up a family office in London to manage her wealth.
Mutlu, who is worth more than $1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, plans to make global investments this year with a company she founded called DKK Advisory.
The office Mutlu has set up is notable for being one of the few female billionaires to set up a company to manage her wealth. The bulk of her wealth comes from the Trendyol platform she founded in 2010.
Globally, women's influence in family offices is growing. Banks such as Citigroup and UBS are adapting to this trend by offering investment opportunities aimed at women. "Women are taking control, and it's long overdue," says financial expert Christina Wing.
