DOMiNO Ventures expanded its portfolio in 2023 by making 11 new tech investments from Türkiye, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe in the Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, and Web3 sectors. The fund has expanded its operations to 8 countries by adding Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. 

DOMiNO started its investments as of July’22 and increased its total portfolio company number to 18 by investing in 11 new startups in 2023.

The team has scouted 8,620 startups, conducted 1627 first meetings, and deep-dived in 144. 47% of the scouting is from Turkey, 34% are from Central Asia, and 19% are from Eastern Europe and the US.

DOMiNO Ventures’disclosed portfolio companies: Hirize, Atlas Space, njoyKidz, Artifica, Cineshort, Iftrue, Co-One, Ginoa, Cognitiwe, Gamer Arena, Lumian, and Igor.

It is announced that the portfolio companies have raised 17.2 million EUR in funds in 2023. 5 out of the 11 investments have been announced during the year and the rest of the investments will be publicly shared in the coming months. The sectoral distribution of the 11 investments is 6 Artificial Intelligence, 2 Web3, 2 Gaming, and 1 Fintech.

Operations in 8 Countries, More Than 50 Global and Local Partners

Due to the expansion strategy of the fund, the team has participated in various events, especially in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, and scouted nearly 1,000 startups in the last two quarters.

The DOMiNO team stated that the Central Asia region has experienced significant economic growth and technological development in recent years, contributing to the creation of a sustainable and supportive startup ecosystem. They expressed their commitment to continue seizing opportunities in the region in the early stages and invest in 5 tech startups in 2024.
