Elon Musk's team has taken control of various U.S. government agencies. According to The Washington Post, the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE), created by Musk, is interfering in the internal affairs of the U.S. government. Among the affected agencies are the Department of the Treasury, the General Services Administration, and other federal institutions. Reports indicate that a high-ranking official at the Treasury Department resigned due to conflicts with the DOGE team.
In November 2024, Musk's team began demanding access to certain sensitive payment systems within the Treasury Department. These systems direct over $6 trillion annually to programs such as Social Security and Medicare. Musk’s team has allegedly blocked access to these systems and interfered with computer networks storing federal employees’ personal data.
The DOGE team has also taken control of the General Services Administration. U.S. government technology workers are now being vetted by Musk’s team. Additionally, the team reportedly sent an email to government employees, encouraging them to resign.
Initially, Donald Trump established DOGE as an independent agency meant to provide recommendations for reducing government expenditures. However, with Musk’s intervention, DOGE now operates as an integral part of the government. Reports also suggest that Musk has an office in the White House and has even spent nights at the DOGE headquarters.
These developments indicate that Musk is attempting to gain power within the U.S. government and infiltrate its institutions with his team.
