Farid Khalilov, one of Azerbaijan's experienced business executives, has been appointed General Manager of Glovo Kyrgyzstan.
According to Tech.az, Khalilov announced his new role on LinkedIn, revealing that he will relocate from Baku to Bishkek to lead Glovo's operations in the Kyrgyz market.
"Sometimes the best career moves are the ones you don't expect. I'm joining Glovo as General Manager for Kyrgyzstan. A beautiful country, an incredible company, and a role I couldn't wait to take on. Moving from Baku to Bishkek, and looking forward to building something great with the local team!" he wrote.
Before joining Glovo, Khalilov served as Head of Commercial at Wolt Azerbaijan from 2023 to 2026, where he led the company's commercial strategy, revenue growth, pricing, and profitability initiatives. During his tenure, Wolt Azerbaijan achieved its first EBITDA-profitable period while maintaining its market-leading position.
Prior to Wolt, Khalilov spent more than 11 years at Samsung Electronics, holding several senior leadership positions, including Head of Sales Group and Head of Mobile Division in Azerbaijan. Throughout his career at Samsung, he led national sales, pricing, go-to-market strategies, and commercial operations across multiple business units.
Khalilov holds an MSc in Management and Finance from the Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge (Canada) and an MA in International Business & Economics from Hochschule Schmalkalden (Germany).
In his new role, Farid Khalilov will oversee Glovo's operations in Kyrgyzstan and lead the company's strategic growth initiatives in the market.
