In January-June 2024, 60 foreign technology companies paid 4 million US dollars in taxes in Uzbekistan. According to the Tax Committee, this is 1.5 times more than in the same period last year.
Foreign IT companies paying taxes in Uzbekistan almost doubled their profits last year. This is stated in the statistics released by the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan. In 2023, their total profit was 50.8 million dollars.
Currently, there are 57 foreign companies providing Internet and IT services in the country. In 2023 alone, 17 companies were added to the list. Including the Singaporean company TikTok PTE LTD. (TikTok) has been blocked in Uzbekistan since July 2021 for violating a personal data law that requires data servers to be located in Uzbekistan.
Compared to 2022, taxes paid by foreign IT companies to the Uzbekistan budget increased by 56.2% in 2023. The main share of payments goes to tech giants such as Facebook's parent company Meta ($2,114 million), Google ($1.6 million), Apple ($1 million) and Amazon ($176,000). Booking.com, Netflix, Xsolla, Zoom, Yandex and Adobe Systems made up the top ten.
Foreign companies providing internet services in Uzbekistan have paid taxes in this country since 2020.
