Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries will meet online in autumn 2023 to discuss guidelines for artificial intelligence developers.
This was said by the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, at the International Forum on Internet Governance in Kyoto under the auspices of the UN.
"We have decided to formulate the recommendations necessary for the implementation of reliable artificial intelligence by the end of the year. We are preparing a plan for an online meeting of G7 leaders on this topic. The meeting will take place in autumn," he said.
The head of the Japanese government noted that within the framework of the G7, this work is being carried out based on his proposal regarding the need to discuss the international regulation of artificial intelligence at the summit held in Hiroshima.
According to Kishida, Japan pays great attention to artificial intelligence technologies.
He noted that in October, the government will allocate funds to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence in small and medium-sized businesses, as well as to promote the application of such technologies in the field of medicine.
