Instagram has introduced new features to enhance the messaging experience in DMs. Users can now take advantage of features such as translation in 99 languages, scheduled messages, pinned messages, and music sharing.
These updates aim to make Instagram's messaging system more competitive with iMessage and other popular messaging apps. The features will first be available on iOS and Android devices before being added to Instagram's web version.
- Automatic translation in 99 languages: Messages sent or received in different languages can now be automatically translated. This feature removes language barriers and helps users communicate globally.
- Scheduled messages: Users can schedule messages up to 29 days in advance. To do this, simply write a message, press and hold the "send" button, and select the desired date and time.
- Pinned messages: Any message, image, meme, or Reels video can now be pinned to the top of a chat. Simply hold down the message and select "pin."
- Music sharing: A new feature allows users to share and discover new songs. By tapping the sticker button in DMs and selecting the music option, users can search for a song and send a 30-second preview to their friends.
- QR code group invites: Users can now invite others to a group chat via a QR code.
With these new features, Instagram aims to make messaging more interactive and user-friendly.
