Apple has started preparations to make iOS 18 the most ambitious version yet.
Apple has temporarily suspended the development of the next version, iOS 18, due to various bugs discovered after the iOS 17 update released in September. But despite this hiatus, Apple has started working on a new update for iOS 18.
Famous Apple analyst Mark Gurman said that Apple is planning an "ambitious and interesting" design change for iOS 18. iOS 18 is expected to feature significant changes that depart from the long-standing design line.
According to Gurman, the exact information about the innovations that Apple will bring with iOS 18 is not yet clear. However, Gurman noted that iOS 18 may go beyond the usual updates made in previous years. After the radical changes that started with iOS 7, Apple, which has not shown a big evolution in terms of design since iOS 16, aims to introduce significant features and design changes to its users with iOS 18.
Gurman's newsletter included the following statements: "Apple faces a more difficult task for its 2024 release. After several years of simple updates to iOS, the next version of the iPhone and iPad software could be relatively new. Apple's high management called the new operating systems "ambitious and exciting" with significant new features and designs, as well as security and performance improvements.
Apple releases the iOS version to users every year at the WWDC event. iOS 18 is scheduled to be unveiled at WWDC, which is expected to be held in September 2024. However, it is not yet clear whether there will be any changes in Apple's plans until this date.
