Kazakhstan’s leading fintech company Kaspi.kz has introduced a new technological feature — a “hand-held payment” system called Kaspi Alagan. This feature allows users to pay for purchases using only their hands, without using a bank card or phone.
Kaspi co-founder and CEO Mikhail Lomtadze demonstrated the new technology to the public at the company’s presentation. He invited UFC fighter Shavkat Rakhmanov to the stage to demonstrate how the system works.
Shavkat paid for a massager “hand-held” during the presentation. Although the device costs 42,900 tenge, the presentation was symbolic — Rakhmanov bought it for just 99 tenge.
Mikhail Lomtadze said that Kaspi Alagan technology is “faster than taking a smartphone out of your pocket” and will make the payment process more convenient, secure and intuitive.
The new feature will be gradually introduced across the Kaspi ecosystem in the coming months.
