Kazakhstan has launched the "Golden Visa" program for investors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has approved new conditions for obtaining an investor visa in the country. According to the new rules, foreign nationals will be able to apply electronically for a visa by investing a minimum of $300,000 (approximately 24.4 million rubles as of May 1, 2025, according to the Central Bank exchange rate) into the charter capital of Kazakh companies or into equity securities.

This type of visa, known as a "Golden Visa," also offers the possibility of obtaining a residence permit (up to 10 years) in the country in the future. The regulation will come into force 10 days after its official publication.

It is worth noting that, according to Forbes Kazakhstan, the idea of a "Golden Visa" was first introduced in the country back in 2018.

In addition, in November 2024, Kazakhstan launched a new visa program called “Neo Nomad.” This visa is designed for modern "digital nomads" who work within Kazakhstan for companies based abroad. To be eligible, applicants must have official employment and a monthly income of at least $3,000 (approximately 244,500 rubles).

Holders of this visa can stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year, as long as they remain employed by a foreign company. In February 2025, the publication Kursiv reported that only seven people had received this visa so far.

This initiative marks an important step by Kazakhstan to boost its investment climate and attract international professionals.
