Kazakhstan has opened the Khan Tengri Innovation Hub in Shanghai’s renowned Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, also known as “China’s Silicon Valley.” The main goal of the hub is to support Central Asian startups and IT companies in entering the Chinese market.
This is Kazakhstan’s first innovation center in China and represents a strategic step to promote regional tech entrepreneurship on a global scale. The hub has already partnered with the Chinese startup accelerator XNode and offers tailored programs for startups at all stages of development.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, emphasized the hub’s significant role in advancing Kazakh startups abroad.
“China is not only a huge market but also a breeding ground for numerous unicorn companies,” Madiyev said. “We see the Chinese market not just as a gateway to Western markets but also as an entry point to vast and largely untapped opportunities.”
He invited entrepreneurs in the region to join the hub and benefit from its strategic location and resources.
