Leading Russian IT companies file for bankruptcy — debts exceed 28 million euros

Software developers "Avroid" and "Giperus," based in the Kaliningrad region of Russia, have filed for bankruptcy due to debts exceeding 2.3 billion rubles in total. However, the Arbitration Court has postponed consideration of their applications until August 15, 2025, citing missing documentation.

Avroid develops applications for the Russian operating system "Aurora," while Giperus offers hyper-converged infrastructure solutions similar to those of the U.S. company Nutanix. Both companies are managed by the investment fund Strigo Capital, whose main shareholders include Dmitry Komissarov, founder of the MoyOfis software, and Eduard Batanov, former vice governor of Saint Petersburg.

In May, the companies announced their bankruptcy, reporting that their offices had closed and employee salary payments were delayed. Employees explained that the delays were due to the departure of a previous investor and prolonged negotiations with new ones. Some workers have already contacted Rospotrebnadzor and the Labor Inspectorate.

Company management stated that they are only willing to discuss payment issues with creditors and founders.

This situation once again highlights the importance of protecting the rights of investors and employees in the Russian software sector.
