LinkedIn CEO: demand for AI-generated post suggestions is lower than expected

LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslanski stated that AI-generated suggestions to improve users' posts have not become as popular as anticipated. He explained this is because LinkedIn is seen by users as a "digital resume," and many are afraid that posts obviously created by AI could negatively impact their careers.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Roslanski said, "If you get called out on TikTok or X, that's one thing. But getting called out on LinkedIn can seriously affect your economic opportunities."

Despite this, interest in AI is growing. The LinkedIn CEO noted that over the past year, job openings requiring AI skills have increased sixfold, and the number of users adding these skills to their profiles has grown by twenty times.

Roslanski also shared that he personally uses AI when communicating with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: "Before I send him an email, I always hit the Copilot button to make sure I sound Satya-smart."

It is worth noting that in 2023, LinkedIn introduced generative AI features based on GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 to help users create resumes and job postings. In 2024, these capabilities were expanded, allowing users to edit their resumes and receive advice from the AI assistant.
