According to The Wall Street Journal, Andrew Tulloch, one of the founders of Thinking Machines Lab, a company co-founded by Mira Murati, has left the company for personal reasons and joined Meta Platforms.
A company representative confirmed Tulloch’s decision to the WSJ, saying that he “wanted to move on in a different direction for personal reasons.” Meta and Thinking Machines Lab did not comment further on the matter.
Previously, the WSJ reported that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had wanted to buy Mira Murati’s startup, but after receiving a rejection, he sent high offers to several of its employees, including Tulloch. According to the report, Tulloch was offered a salary and bonus package of $ 1.5 billion for at least six years.
Meta has been trying to attract experienced specialists from its competitors in recent months. The company is offering large salaries and shares to strengthen its position in the field of artificial intelligence, and it has intensified this strategy, especially after the Llama 4 model did not live up to expectations.
