Meta introduced Ray-Ban smart glasses with live streaming support

Meta has introduced updated "smart" glasses developed in collaboration with Ray-Ban.

The company demonstrated its smart glasses called "Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses" at the Meta Connect event. These glasses will be available from October 17, 2023, starting at $299.

The glasses have 1080p photo and video recording with a 12-megapixel camera. Users can store around 500 photos and 100 videos of up to 30 seconds each. Also, the glasses will be able to be synchronized with the Meta View program.

In addition, the glasses have the ability to broadcast live on Facebook and Instagram. The light on the glasses will flash during the live broadcast and alert people around that it is being recorded. The glasses have speakers and five microphones with a 50% higher sound capacity than the previous model.

The glasses run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. The battery life is said to be between four and six hours with "active use".
