Mind-Power control: MIT graduates’ technology

The Alterego startup has introduced a specialized device designed to enable “telepathic” communication. This device does not require a brain implant—it is simply worn on the head.

Sensors located on the forehead detect signals sent by the brain’s speech system, essentially identifying the words a user intends to express. The technology does not read all thoughts; it only captures signals related to speech.

According to the creators, Alterego allows users to perform tasks such as sending messages, taking notes, or searching the internet solely through “mind power.”

The device is also equipped with cameras to analyze the surrounding environment.

Developed by graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this technology could be particularly beneficial for individuals with speech impairments. Additionally, the device reportedly features real-time translation capabilities, making it ideal for communication between people who speak different languages.

Alterego has not disclosed which underlying technologies or AI models power the device. Currently, neither its price nor release date has been announced.
