The share of electric and hybrid vehicles among imported vehicles in Azerbaijan has almost doubled.
This was stated by Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport, at the High-Level Roundtable on “Green Urban Transport” held within the framework of the Ministerial Meeting on Climate and Urbanization at COP29.
According to him, over the past few years, the Azerbaijani government has implemented measures, including exemption from VAT and customs duties, to stimulate the supply of vehicles with environmentally friendly engines. “These incentives have led to an almost twofold increase in the share of electric and hybrid vehicles among imported vehicles from 10.5% to about 20%,” he emphasized.
