Motorola Solutions is launching a project to upgrade Azerbaijan’s specialized TETRA communication network. This critical task has been entrusted to Motorola Solutions by the State Special Communication and Information Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SSCI). The project aims to modernize and enhance the security of the existing network used by government agencies and public safety services.
Motorola Solutions will integrate DIMETRA Connect technology into the network. This new technology allows users to fully access TETRA’s capabilities via mobile internet, even when outside radio coverage. Additionally, multifunctional portable radios of the MXP660 series will be connected to the entire network, expanding coverage and increasing reliability for government communications.
Another key step in the project is the creation of a geographical backup in the DIMETRA TETRA system. This means the system will operate simultaneously across multiple data centers, ensuring uninterrupted communication in the event of power outages, natural disasters, or other unforeseen incidents.
Under the contract, Motorola Solutions will provide software and hardware updates, antivirus protection, and other technical services for three years, ensuring that Azerbaijan’s communication network operates at the highest TETRA standards.
At the contract signing ceremony, Ilgar Musayev, Head of SSCI, emphasized that this project reflects Azerbaijan’s commitment to innovation and information security. He noted that the modernization would make government communications more resilient.
Sergio Redomero Gonzalez, representing Motorola Solutions, expressed pride in supporting the project. He highlighted that the investment would expand the capabilities of TETRA technology and help public safety services manage future challenges effectively.
This project is of strategic importance for aligning Azerbaijan’s communication networks with international standards and strengthening collaboration with global partners.
