The laboratory established through the collaboration between Nvidia and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) of Abu Dhabi is considered Nvidia’s first artificial intelligence technology center in the Middle East. The main goal of the center is to develop innovative robotics projects by leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence.
The laboratory will focus on projects involving humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and robotic arms. In this process, Nvidia’s advanced AI models and high computational power will be utilized. In particular, the use of a special GPU chip called “Thor” is planned to enhance the efficiency of robotic systems.
The laboratory’s activities will not be limited to robotics. AI solutions will also be developed for other critical fields such as climate, energy, and genomics. Within robotics, however, logistics and transportation will remain special priorities.
Operating under Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council, TII plays a key role in the UAE’s ambition to become a global hub in artificial intelligence. This partnership will increase the UAE’s investments in technology, strengthen its research infrastructure, and create faster access to cutting-edge technologies through international cooperation.
At the new center, specialists from both sides will work together, and new talent will be recruited for the projects.
