Pavel Durov has officially announced the launch of Cocoon, a decentralized network designed for artificial intelligence computations. The platform, which the entrepreneur jokingly refers to as the “AI egg” due to its logo, is already processing initial user requests with full privacy. According to Durov, some of the queries related to automatic message translation on the Telegram messenger are currently being handled through this network.
The network operates on a mutual benefit model. Owners of graphics processors that power the infrastructure are rewarded with Toncoin, the blockchain’s native currency, while developers gain the computational power needed for AI applications. The project leader emphasized that computing costs on the Cocoon platform will be significantly lower than the prices offered by centralized providers like Microsoft or Amazon.
Durov plans to attract more graphics processor owners and increase the demand for computations from developers in the coming weeks. The Cocoon project was first announced in October 2025. Pavel Durov sees decentralized solutions as a key defense against governments and corporations using user data as a tool for manipulation.
