A strategic partnership between the UK-based AI and robotics company Humanoid and Saudi Arabia’s advanced technology giant QSS AI & Robotics has launched a unique project in Riyadh, marking a regional first. The partners have opened the Humanoid Lounge, a dedicated exhibition and experience center solely focused on humanoid robots—the first of its kind in the Middle East. The center is not just a sales point; it also functions as an innovation hub showcasing future technologies, hosting seminars, and demonstrating the capabilities of the UK company’s wheeled robot, the HMND 01 Alpha.
The agreement between the two companies goes beyond sales. The project aims to localize technology production in Saudi Arabia, with QSS becoming the exclusive local partner of Humanoid and assembling the robots in domestic factories. Under the signed contract, a special pre-order system has been established to produce and supply up to 10,000 humanoid robots within the next five years. This initiative is a significant step in shifting from importing high-tech products to local manufacturing.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to reduce the kingdom’s economic dependence on oil and transform it into a global technology hub through substantial investments in industrial robotics. Notably, QSS previously gained recognition for its first locally produced humanoid robots, Sara and Mohammed. This new collaboration will further strengthen the local robotics ecosystem by integrating it with international expertise.
