Popular artists' music is being removed from TikTok

Universal Music Group (UMG) has parted ways with TikTok. UMG featured artists include Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Sting, The Weeknd, Alicia Keys, SZA, Steve Lacy, Drake, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and many more.
UMG said it decided to stop licensing the content in protest of TikTok's attempt to avoid the fair terms set out in the previous contract for the use of music. "It's unfortunate that Universal Music Group has put their interests ahead of our artists and songwriters," TikTok said.
