Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to meet Telegram founder Pavel Durov during his visit to Baku. Both Putin and Durov visited Azerbaijan at the same time, but this meeting did not take place.

According to information, a few days before the visit, the officials of the Presidential Administration offered Putin a meeting with Durov, but Putin did not accept this offer. It was not reported why the meeting was canceled and what the planned topic was.
