"Easy Signature" system has crashed

"Asan Imza", which plays an important role in Azerbaijan's digital ecosystem, has been down for two days. This outage has caused serious difficulties not only for individual users, but also for the business sector. Banking transactions, tax payments, customs clearances and even salary transfers have been suspended. Entrepreneurs report that their work has slowed down and they have suffered material losses.

What is the cause of the problem?

The State Tax Service, which made a statement to APA regarding the issue, stated that the difficulties that have arisen with "Asan Imza" have nothing to do with their organization and that the relevant organizations are working on solving the problem. However, neither "Asan Imza" nor its operator B.EST Solution have yet disclosed the exact cause of the malfunction.

This is causing concern in society. In particular, such outages can cause huge economic losses for financial institutions and entrepreneurs. The suspension of customs processes, delays in salary transfers and the failure to approve official documents negatively affect the daily lives of many people.

The role of "Asan İmza" and statistical figures

If we look at the statistics, there are currently 929,803 "Asan İmza" certificates active in the country. In 2024 alone, more than 104 million transactions were executed through this system. These figures show that the suspension of the service affects millions of electronic transactions and disrupts the rhythm of economic activity.

"Asan İmza" is a joint project of the Ministry of Taxes, "Asan İmza" and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, which allows citizens to use their mobile phones as a reliable electronic identity card. Its operator is the representative office of the Estonian company B.EST Solution in Azerbaijan.

Expected steps

Currently, citizens and entrepreneurs expect the problem to be resolved soon. The relevant agencies are expected to make an official statement on the issue. It seems important to prevent such cases and create alternative solutions for the uninterrupted operation of digital services.
