Yusif Bagiyev and others, accused of organizing gambling games using Internet information resources and legalizing the obtained funds, have been brought to justice.
The Prosecutor General's Office has released information about this.
It was reported that as a result of urgent operational-search measures carried out on the basis of information received regarding the issue in question, a criminal case was initiated by the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General.
The investigative and operational measures taken revealed reasonable suspicions that Bagiyev Yusif Seyfullah oglu, in an organized gang with Ramil Saadov and other individuals, illegally operated his online gambling sites in the country, thereby obtaining a particularly large amount of illegal income, as well as that, starting in 2022, he colluded with the head of “Paysis” LLC and “Pulpal” LLC, Nasibov Samir Huseyn oglu, and legalized a total of more than 161 million manats of money transferred to these wallets by opening electronic wallets in the names of individual individuals in the money transfer systems owned by the latter, obtaining them as a result of online gambling games, and transferring them to numerous card accounts opened in the names of various individuals.
As a result of the inspections and searches conducted during the investigation, material evidence of importance to the case was seized.
Based on the collected preliminary evidence, Yusif Bagiyev and Ramil Saadova were charged under Articles 193-1.3.1, 193-1.3.2 (legalization of a large amount of property obtained by criminal means by an organized group) and 244-1.4 (organization or holding of gambling games, especially when committed with the receipt of a large amount of income) of the Criminal Code, and Samir Nasibova was charged under Articles 193-1.3.1 and 193-1.3.2 of the same Code.
Based on the motion of the investigative body and the presentation of the prosecutor conducting the procedural management of the preliminary investigation, the Binagadi District Court decided to arrest Yusif Bagiyev, and the investigative body chose a preventive measure in the form of placing Ramil Saadov and Samir Nasibov under police supervision.
Currently, the preliminary investigation into the criminal case is ongoing.
