"xAI"s new Grok-3 model has been released

Elon Musk's AI company xAI unveiled its latest AI model, Grok 3, on Monday, along with new features for the Grok iOS and web apps. Grok was developed as an answer to advanced AI systems like OpenAI’s GPT-4o and Google’s Gemini. The model can analyze images, answer questions, and power various features on Musk's social network, X. Originally slated for release in 2024, Grok 3’s launch was delayed.

According to Musk, Grok 3 boasts 10 times more computing power than its predecessor, Grok 2. It was developed using a massive data center in Memphis containing 200,000 GPUs and a vast dataset, which even includes court case documents.

The new AI model claims to outperform OpenAI’s GPT-4o in certain areas. Particularly, Grok 3 Reasoning, a logical reasoning model, excels in math, science, and programming fields by fact-checking its responses before providing answers.

Additionally, xAI introduced a new "DeepSearch" feature, created as an alternative to AI-powered research tools like OpenAI's deep research. This tool collects data from the internet and X, delivering summaries in response to queries.

Users with the "Premium+" subscription ($50 per month) on X will get early access to Grok 3. Other advanced features will be available through a new subscription plan called "SuperGrok." Priced at $30 per month or $300 per year, SuperGrok grants access to reasoning models, DeepSearch, and unlimited image generation.

In the coming weeks, a voice mode will be added to Grok 3. The company also plans to release the open-source code for Grok 2 within the next few months.
