The “Yandex Lavka” service has launched deliveries using robot couriers in the Primorsky district of Saint Petersburg. Previously, the service was active only in the city of Murino in Leningrad Oblast. Robots have now started transporting orders from the warehouse (“darkstore”) near the Kamenka River, and from December 2025, four more locations in the district are planned to join this system.
Deliveries are carried out by Yandex’s fourth-generation robots, introduced in October 2025. Thanks to upgraded sensors and a suspension system, these new robots can analyze their surroundings more accurately and easily navigate obstacles on the road. Customers can freely choose the delivery type when placing orders through the app.
The company also has ambitious future plans; Yandex aims to increase the number of robot-assisted service points in Saint Petersburg to 50 by 2026. It is worth noting that Yandex robots, first introduced in 2019, currently operate in 21 districts of Moscow, as well as in Innopolis and Murino.
