Sony is mass blocking certain user accounts in Russia

According to available information, these account blocks primarily target activities related to fraud. Specifically, accounts that were mass-created from a single IP address or network, paid for using stolen bank cards, or had game keys activated that were purchased with such funds are being blocked.

Sony has not officially commented on the situation and is unlikely to do so in the future. However, it is possible that regular users may also be affected by these bans. This is because some users, knowingly or unknowingly, purchase game keys or accounts from shady resellers, which can lead to their accounts being flagged as involved in suspicious activity.

Experts advise users to create foreign accounts themselves without intermediaries, never share login credentials with resellers — even if it seems cheaper — and avoid purchasing pre-made PSN accounts. Additionally, buying physical copies of games may help accounts appear more legitimate in some cases.

If your account has been blocked and you believe none of the above applies to you, you can contact Sony’s support service. While this is not a guaranteed solution, it remains the most effective option currently available.
