State agency discusses cooperation with Google

A meeting was held between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDIA) and Olga Skorokhodova, Head of Central Asia, Caucasus, Developing Countries, Government Relations and Public Policy at Google. The meeting, which took place within the framework of the COP29 summit and discussed various initiatives and potential areas for cooperation, was also attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, as well as the Department of Informatization of the Education System of the Ministry of Science and Education.
During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation in the development of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy of Azerbaijan based on the global “AI Sprinters Framework” program designed by Google for developing countries were discussed. Google also presented its initiatives covering the development of students and specialists’ skills in artificial intelligence and cloud technology. The possibility of establishing close ties with universities and technology communities through these initiatives was noted.
It was noted that this cooperation will make a significant contribution to the development of the digital ecosystem in Azerbaijan and create new opportunities in terms of optimizing the use of artificial intelligence for accelerating innovation and sustainable development.
During the discussions, the parties emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and digital innovations. It was noted that cooperation on artificial intelligence has the potential to position Azerbaijan as a regional hub in this direction.
