Taxes from Big Tech in Uzbekistan increase by 44%, exceeding $10.3 million

Since the beginning of 2025, foreign Internet companies have paid about $11.3 million in taxes to the Uzbek budget. This information was announced by the Tax Committee.

The volume of electronic services provided by foreign companies to local users increased by 44% to about $94.5 million. Also, about 93% of tax revenues were provided by the top 10 companies.

List of taxpayers among large technology companies:

  • Meta – ~$3.2 million
  • Apple – ~$3.2 million
  • Google – ~$2.83 million
  • OpenAI – paid $431,000 in taxes, earned $3.62 million in revenue
  • Booking.com – $264,000 in taxes, earned $2.21 million
  • TikTok – $240,000 in taxes, earned $2.04 million
  • Netflix – $121,000 in taxes
  • ACCA – $104,000 in taxes
  • Zoom – $101,000 in taxes
  • Amazon – $98,000 in taxes, entered the top 10 for the first time

Note that since 2020, foreign companies in Uzbekistan are considered taxpayers for services provided to individuals when selling electronic services and products. For this, a VAT office has been established and companies can register in Uzbekistan and pay taxes. Currently, 73 companies are registered, 16 of which are included in the top list in 2025.

In 2024, large foreign technology companies paid taxes to Uzbekistan in the amount of about $ 9 million. Last year, the volume of services provided increased by 1.5 times, approaching $ 90 million. The list also includes TikTok, which is restricted in Uzbekistan.
