Over the past three years, 101 foreign companies registered in Kazakhstan have paid $147.3 million in taxes, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan reported.
Huawei, Aliexpress, Google, Apple, Netflix and other international companies are among the entities involved in this process. Last year alone, they paid $68.7 million in taxes.
This is the result of new rules introduced in 2022 under the Tax Code, which provide for the taxation of foreign internet companies.
The tax applies to foreign digital companies that sell goods or provide online services to consumers in Kazakhstan.
At the end of 2024, TEMU, Pinduoduo and Alibaba Group completed the conditional registration process.
