The popular messaging platform Telegram has officially become a member of Astana Hub, one of Central Asia’s leading innovation and technology centers. This information was published on the official website of the hub.
Telegram’s membership in Astana Hub will enable the company to collaborate directly with the government of Kazakhstan and local information technology professionals. Additionally, this partnership will open new opportunities for Telegram to develop services, advertising, and content tailored to the local market.
The official statement notes that Telegram’s participation in the Astana Hub ecosystem will create significant opportunities for developing digital products, exchanging expertise, and fostering international cooperation. The company plans to implement joint projects both locally and globally.
The foundation of this collaboration was laid in June 2024 during a visit to Kazakhstan by Telegram’s founder, Pavel Durov. Invited by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry Jaslan Madiev, Durov toured Astana Hub’s infrastructure, startup support programs, and technological potential.
In October 2024, Minister Madiev announced an agreement with Telegram to open an official office in Kazakhstan and appoint a local representative.
Established in 2018, Astana Hub is an innovation center that supports the development of IT startups in Kazakhstan and attracts talented specialists from abroad. The hub offers special tax incentives and legal privileges for participants. Moreover, simplified visa and work permit procedures are available for foreign residents.
Telegram’s move to join Astana Hub not only expands the company’s presence in the region but also contributes significantly to Kazakhstan’s digital development goals.
