On January 25-26, 2025, two large-scale hackathons were held simultaneously in Nakhchivan and Sumqayit cities. Over 100 young participants competed with their innovative ideas, presenting the most creative and promising solutions.
Sumqayit Hackathon
A fierce competition took place among 17 teams from the northern regions, Absheron, and Sumqayit. The winning teams were:
• IzPay Offline – A next-generation payment system
• StartApp – A support community and app bringing startups together
• IdeaLab – A digital medical assistant in the healthcare sector
Nakhchivan Hackathon
11 teams participated in the hackathon held in Nakhchivan. The top three winners were:
• Sepcdeaf – A device mounted on glasses that converts speech to text for people with hearing impairments
• OnePharm – An electronic prescription and online pharmacy delivery platform
• SafeOrbit – A platform that teaches programming through gaming
Incubation Program Selection and New Opportunities
The top three teams from both regions, as well as the fourth team selected by the jury, earned the opportunity to join the INNOSTART Incubation Program to further develop their ideas and adapt them into startup models.
Prizes for the Winners
The teams that excelled in both hackathons were awarded the following prizes:
• 1st place – 3,000 AZN
• 2nd place – 1,500 AZN
• 3rd place – 500 AZN
INNOSTART – Supporting the Development of the Startup Ecosystem
Organized by SUP.VC and supported by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRDA), INNOSTART is a large-scale program aimed at developing the startup ecosystem in the regions. For participants, this competition is not only a contest but also a significant step towards bringing innovative solutions to the real market.
