The last co-founder of xAI has also left - the team is being built from scratch

In March 2026, large-scale personnel changes continue at the company xAI, led by Elon Musk. According to information, one of the company's co-founders, Ross Nordin, resigned on March 27, 2026. It is also noted that the badge belonging to xAI employees was removed from his social network profile.

Ross Nordin was one of 11 engineers who participated in the creation of xAI in 2023. He previously worked at Tesla. It is reported that Nordin reported directly to Elon Musk and was considered one of the key figures in managing the main coordination processes in the company.

In recent years, a number of important people have left xAI. In 2024–2025, one of the first employees, Kyle Kosich, as well as co-founders Christian Szegedi and Igor Babushkin, left the company. Babushkin then began working on his own project.

In early 2026, other co-founders — Tony Wu, Jimmy Ba, Greg Young (who left for health reasons and remained as an unofficial advisor) and Toby Polen — also left the company.

In March, Elon Musk said that xAI was not built properly from the start and that the company was being reorganized from scratch. During that period, two other key employees — Godun Zhang and researcher Zhihan Dai — also left the company.

In addition, on March 26, 2026, it became known that Manuel Kroiss had also left xAI. He led the initial training process on large databases of artificial intelligence models and was engaged in the development of programming models.

Thus, all of the main co-founders who founded xAI have already left the company, and in accordance with Elon Musk's plan, the team is being completely reorganized.
