Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with the Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Mirek Dušek in a videoconference format. It was emphasized during the meeting that fruitful cooperation relations have been established between Azerbaijan and the WEF, and that our country actively participates in a number of initiatives of the Forum. Within the framework of the cooperation, steps taken in our country towards digital transformation, innovation and technology were noted. An exchange of views was held on the prospects and potential opportunities of the partnership.
An online signing ceremony of the Letter of Intent on the Accelerator Platform was held between the WEF and the Ministry of Economy within the framework of the meeting. According to the Letter of Intent, the WEF, together with the Ministry of Economy, will bring together representatives of the public and private sectors and support initiatives related to Azerbaijan's connection to the global knowledge and exchange network. This initiative aims to create new opportunities in the field of innovation and skills development and contribute to the development of a modern skills ecosystem.
It was noted that the Skills Accelerator Platform will offer solutions for human capital development in a rapidly changing economy and stimulate public-private cooperation.
