Instagram Threads has officially completed its transition from Threads.net to Threads.com. This change will make it easier for users to access the platform and introduces a variety of new features.
Meta acquired the Threads.com domain in September 2024, and from today, users who visit Threads.com will be directly redirected to the platform's homepage. The previous "Threads.net" URL will now redirect to Threads.com.
This transition also brings new functionalities to the Threads web app. Users can now more easily access their custom feeds, as well as liked and saved posts through the main menu. Additionally, users can copy Threads posts as images and share them on other social networks.
Meta has also introduced a feature that allows users to find and follow creators they previously followed on the X platform. To use this feature, users need to upload their X data to Threads.
With these new features and the domain change, Meta aims to expand the reach of Threads and gain an edge in its competition with the X platform.
