Tim Cook is preparing to step down as Apple’s CEO

According to a new report published by Financial Times, discussions about Tim Cook stepping down from his CEO position are being seriously considered. It is reported that the company's Board of Directors and senior executives are preparing for the possibility that Cook may leave his role as early as next year.

The planned timeframe for his resignation is the period following the financial report in January. The logic behind this timing is to give the new leadership enough time to fully adapt to the position and the internal processes before major events, such as WWDC (the Worldwide Developers Conference) held in June.

Tim Cook, who is currently 65 years old, became the head of Apple in 2011 after Steve Jobs stepped down, and he has now led the company longer than Jobs did. Under his leadership, Apple’s market value has grown from 350 billion dollars to around 4 trillion dollars. However, despite this success, the report notes that the company has been struggling to find the right direction in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The source emphasizes that no final decision has been made regarding the timing of Cook’s departure or who will replace him. Nevertheless, John Ternus, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, is considered the most likely candidate to become the company’s next CEO.
