Toncoin has risen by more than 60% in the cryptocurrency market over the past two days. The increase began after Pavel Durov’s statements about the TON blockchain.
According to the information, the price of the cryptocurrency has been rising since May 4 and is currently trading at around $2.25. The total increase in the past week was 66%. Toncoin’s market capitalization reached $5.9 billion, making it the 17th largest cryptocurrency.
Pavel Durov’s call to “Make TON Great Again” is cited as the reason for the price increase. He said that the Telegram platform will replace the role of the TON Foundation and become the main driving force of the ecosystem and the largest validator of the blockchain.
It should be noted that the TON project was founded in 2018 by Pavel and Nikolai Durov. Although the project was suspended in 2020 for legal reasons, its development was later continued by the TON Foundation.
