Trip.com has launched the ability to pay with USDT and USDC stablecoins for hotel and flight bookings for some overseas users. The Shanghai-based travel platform has activated the feature on its international website in select regions starting October 9, 2025.
According to a company customer service representative, the move comes amid the growing popularity of stablecoin payments outside of mainland China. It should be noted that Beijing’s restrictions on cryptocurrency activity are still in force.
The stablecoin payment feature is not available for users in mainland China and some other markets. This feature is determined based on the user’s IP address. The payment option has also not been active in Hong Kong this week, according to the report.
