Trump Cancels Biden's Semiconductor Production Program

Donald Trump has proposed the cancellation of a $52.7 billion semiconductor chip production support program that was approved in 2022. This program was developed during the presidency of Joe Biden to increase U.S. chip production and ensure technological independence. Trump suggests that the funds should be used to reduce the national debt.

This proposal has caused a delay in the construction of a $20 billion chip factory by Intel in Ohio. Initially scheduled to begin operations in 2025, the opening of the factory has now been postponed to 2030 or 2031. Intel has stated that this decision was made considering financial and business conditions.

The actions of the Trump administration also call on U.S. allies to impose stricter restrictions on China's technology sector. These measures aim to protect the U.S.'s technological dominance and continue competition with China.

These developments signal significant changes in U.S. technological policy and could affect the country’s future economic and technological standing.
