Uzbekistan will implement several projects aimed at developing artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure with the US company Nvidia, the country's Ministry of Digital Development reported.
Minister Sherzod Shermatov met with Nvidia management last week to discuss the prospects for joint projects. The parties plan to create two computing clusters with a total capacity of 1 megawatt. One of these clusters will be used for education and scientific research, and the other for digital government, healthcare, banking and industrial AI projects.
According to preliminary agreements, the final contracts are expected to be signed in 2026. The date of the contracts will depend on the availability of equipment and agreements with the US government on export control.
In addition, a $ 3 million educational complex called the AI Center of Excellence will be created based on Nvidia technologies. The center will host artificial intelligence training and advanced training courses for teachers.
The government of Uzbekistan will also purchase Nvidia equipment to create supercomputer AI infrastructure at leading universities in the country. The agreement in this direction is planned to be signed by the end of the year.
Another area of cooperation will be the exchange of experience — Nvidia will share with Uzbekistan the best international practices in managing artificial intelligence projects, their application in the economy and the development of ecosystems.
It should be noted that earlier it was planned to launch the Apple Pay and Google Pay payment systems in Uzbekistan.
