Saudi Arabian company DataVolt plans to open a 12 MW data center in IT Park Uzbekistan by the end of 2026. The project is worth $150 million.

Abhay Twari, head of strategic projects at DataVolt, said that this data center will be the first in Central Asia to be based on artificial intelligence technologies and will have a LEED Gold certificate, meeting international “green” standards.

Twari noted that the project will strengthen Uzbekistan’s status as a regional data center and attract technology giants such as Google, Microsoft, Meta and Amazon. The project will also contribute to the development of the digital economy, the creation of new jobs and the promotion of entrepreneurship through innovation. Local companies are also expected to actively participate in the project.

DataVolt plans to invest an additional $3 billion in Uzbekistan in the future and increase the total capacity of data centers to 500 MW. The company's CEO Rajit Nanda announced plans to build modern data centers with a capacity of 210 MW in Yeni Tabriz and Bukhara.

In addition, the Saudi company is working on connecting Uzbekistan with an optical fiber line running along the bottom of the Caspian Sea; this line will pass through Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Uzbekistan is also planning to allocate $ 100 million for the purchase of supercomputers in 2026.
