The service is scheduled to launch in 2025.
Linda Yakcarino, CEO of X (formerly Twitter), announced a partnership between Visa and X Money. This partnership will allow users to top up wallets, make p2p transfers and withdraw funds on the X platform.
According to CNBC, X plans to launch the service in the first quarter of 2025. The source said that X may attract other financial partners in the future.
The Verge notes that the service has already received a license for money transfers in 41 US states.
At a meeting in 2023, X’s owner Elon Musk said that the X platform would operate as a “digital bank”. He said: “Money, securities, whatever you want - it will all be on our platform. I’m not just talking about sending $20 to your friend. This is about not needing a bank account at all.”
