Vahid Mustafayev spoke about his intention to build the VMF watch factory in Aghdam:” if we need modest work to create a TV, we are here, we are safe and ready!”
Vahid Mustafayev, the owner of” VMF “watch factory, said that he would open a factory to produce” VMF " watches in the liberated city of Aghdam. In the footsteps of this news, we contacted Vahid Bey, tried to find out more detailed information from him about his plans for the future and the work to be done.
At the same time, Vahid Mustafayev is the head of the suspended ANS TV company. The broadcasting of the ANS TV channel, owned by him, was suspended from July 18, 2016, and the license of ANS CHM radio was revoked.
- Vahid Bey, how long have you been planning to open a “VMF”in Aghdam? If I'm not mistaken, before that there were no such plants in the regions, is this a first?
- VMF, the first manufacturer of precision mechanisms in Azerbaijan, has recently demonstrated its watches of national production at a number of international exhibitions with the support of “Azpromo” and achieved awards. The participation of “VMF” Watch Factory in such exhibitions as Geneva Watches&Wonders, Kazan Islamic countries exhibition, prestigious and large-scale Hong Kong Watch&Clock Fair, Moscow's traditional “Moscow Watch Expo” not only made us and Azerbaijan a name in the field of high technologies, but also created a new influx of potential customers. However, as a result of our discussions with “Azpromo” and state agencies for the development of small and Medium Business (SMBDA), we met with the agency for the development of Economic Zones (IZIA). As a result, we came to a mature idea of building a watch factory “VMF” in Agdam Industrial Park. We have already submitted the required Business Plan and architect and constructive plans of our factory to IZIA. At this stage, we expect a response from them so that we can be given space and start working with God's help. And I cannot but agree with what you said. This project will indeed become the first and only watch factory not only in the regions, but also in Azerbaijan as a whole.
-From the point of view of socio-economic development of the liberated territories, the involvement of entrepreneurs here is considered a priority for the state. From this point of view, what do you think the contributions and benefits of “VMF” factory will be for Aghdam region? How many employees are generally considered to be involved here?
- As you know, I participated in the battles for Aghdam during the first Karabakh War and was wounded in the village of Shelly, and my brother Chingiz died in the village of Nakhchivanik. During the second Karabakh War, I also participated in the battles for the Aghdam region and delivered important reports to the world media. Therefore, Aghdam is a very important land for me - we have blood there. The case led to the fact that the director of our watch factory” VMF " Orkhan Mammadov is also from Agdam and was expelled from his land as a child in the 90s. I do not believe that all this could be a coincidence.
It is for this reason that the contribution of” VMF " holding to Aghdam region, creation of a factory producing precise mechanisms in Aghdam region and export of our products to different countries of the world will not only promote our republic as a technological country, but also confirm the existence of these lands in the economic sphere. We will be proud that we are strengthening the economic potential of Agdam. Hopefully, seeing our achievements, Aghdam will also be proud of us!
As for the number of employees, the construction of the “VMF” factory in Aghdam envisages the employment of about 100 citizens and the creation of highly qualified personnel and jobs trained in foreign countries to work at the level of about 50 precision mechanisms, fiber-laser, quartz and nanotechnologies in the factory's activities.
- If it is not a secret, how much money is required to open this plant? Is there material support for you in this regard, or will you do it exactly at your own expense?
- The required funds are not a secret. Holding” VMF " is a fully transparent organization and fully open to the public. Thus, the total investment in the implementation of the project in the initial period is expected to be about 2 million Manats. In this matter, our state has support for enterprises that work transparently. It is planned that 70% of the investment we will spend on the project will be formed by preferential business loans with the support of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
- As an entrepreneur, what else do you intend to do on our returned lands, do you have plans and ideas in this regard?
- Very good and important question. As you know, our vandal enemies have not destroyed the city like Agdam, the Pearl of the Caucasus, and left it stone by stone. We consider it our duty to participate in the construction and reconstruction of Agdam. The Minimum is to create living opportunities for our employees participating in the project. As a nation, we must support Karabakh! I remember very well that in Soviet times all the land was considered the property of collective and state farms, and the local population lived there only as a labor force and worked day and night for very small sums. The values gained and agricultural products were handed over to some USSR. I think that one of the reasons for our land losses in the first Karabakh War was related to this. As a result of continuous patriotic policy and ideological work, our nation realized the value of the land and liberated the occupied territories. But now we have a more serious task-to protect these lands and hand them over to future generations as a prosperous Azerbaijani land. And for this he must be the owner of these lands. The activity of our state in the direction of development of liberated zones and the creation of facilities for the construction of factories such as “VMF” bind our lands to citizens. Apart from our victorious army, we ourselves will remove those eyes with our bare fingers and throw them under our feet. I think every entrepreneur thinks like me.
- Do you intend to open a new TV or radio in the liberated territories?
- We are soldiers of Azerbaijan. Wherever the motherland commands, we are ready to go there, grab the handle of that work and carry it out with high quality! Of course, these areas should have TV and radio as sources of information, and they, being Local, should have a special ideological load, unlike the capital. People's leisure should be useful from the point of view of cultural and educational and at the same time support them in the early times, in the difficult and difficult period of construction of the population. In addition, a film studio based on new technologies will be very useful in Karabakh. Thus, during the restoration period of destroyed cities and villages, the selfless work of our citizens and hard workers should be filmed without fail and systematically, and documentary and feature films should be made about it.
