Wildberries wants to buy Azur Air

Allegations of a possible sale agreement between Russian e-commerce company Wildberries and Azur Air have surfaced. According to the industry news outlet Aviatorshina Telegram channel, Wildberries & Russ (RVB) is in talks to acquire Azur Air, and the deal could be closed by May 2026.

The move is reportedly part of the company’s plans to expand its tourism business. Wildberries acquired the Fun&Sun tourism operator in October 2025, and in early 2026 announced plans to open hotels in Egypt and Turkey under the WB Travel brand.

However, Azur Air has denied the reports, saying that there are no talks about selling the company and that there are no discussions with potential buyers. Wildberries has not made any official comments on the matter.

It should be noted that in March 2026, Rosaviatsia limited the airline’s operating certificate to June 8, 2026 due to maintenance issues. Azur Air currently has a fleet of 13 long-range aircraft, mainly manufactured by Boeing, and carried 2.2 million passengers in 2025.
