On October 31, Company X decided to end its Circles feature, which allowed users to share content with a group of their choice. This feature allowed users to limit their sharing to only the group of their choice.
However, in April it was discovered that some posts shared using Circles were publicly visible. This was particularly problematic for users who only wanted to show a post to certain people.
After making this decision, Company X informed its users that they will not be able to create new posts on Circles after the specified date. It also informed users that they will not delete existing Circles posts and that access to these posts will continue. It has not yet been explained why X decided to remove the Circles feature.
