Speaking at a cybersecurity conference in Baku, Tural Məmmədov, Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security (XRİTDX), stated that over 457 government agencies have been integrated into the “Azstate” network in the past three years. As a result, the local network security and protection of these institutions have been fully ensured.
Məmmədov emphasized that the implemented local protection strategy covers not only internet resources but also special and state communication services. According to him, even if there are disruptions in the global internet network, domestic state information resources will continue to operate steadily. Communication systems for law enforcement and critical infrastructure also function autonomously, independent of mobile operators.
He also highlighted efforts to reduce foreign dependency, noting that government agencies are now using the local “Teams” platform as an alternative to WhatsApp.
