Russian IT giant Yandex has moved three of its most powerful supercomputers from their previous locations and is setting them up at new computing sites. The company’s press service has not disclosed when the relocation will be completed.
The systems — Lyapunov, Galushkin and Chervonenkis — are key components of Yandex’s computing infrastructure.
The company said the equipment had been removed from its former locations and was being deployed at new computing facilities. Once operational, the supercomputers will be reintegrated into the infrastructure supporting Yandex’s services.
According to the company, the supercomputers were not damaged during drone attacks on several Yandex data centers earlier in October. The incidents prompted the company to take emergency measures to relocate critical equipment.
