Zoom’s founder and CEO, Eric Yuan, has announced that thanks to the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we will soon be working less. During a recent conference, Yuan revealed that Zoom is quickly integrating numerous AI-powered features into its platform.
One of the most notable innovations is the “Digital Twin” — an intelligent virtual version of yourself that can attend meetings and even speak on your behalf. To demonstrate the technology’s potential, Yuan reportedly used his own AI twin during a meeting with investors.
He emphasized that Zoom is now fully focused on AI, investing all its resources and building its future strategy around it. Yuan believes AI will go far beyond attending meetings — for instance, two executives could send their digital twins to negotiate contracts and prepare plans, saving hours of discussion and avoiding time loss.
AI will also play a significant role in managing daily tasks. According to Yuan, smart systems will soon be able to review all your emails, highlight the most important messages, and draft responses automatically. Additionally, other Zoom tools — such as whiteboards and collaborative document platforms — will become more efficient and easier to use with AI support.
In conclusion, the Zoom CEO expressed confidence that as AI takes over many of our routine duties, people will begin to work less. He made an ambitious prediction:
“Within five years, our goal is to work only three, at most four days a week. The five-day workweek will no longer be necessary.”
